How to write a local job ad that gets good applicants
· 1 min read · getme team

The best job ads are short and specific.
The structure
- Title: what the job is, in plain words ("Casual café all-rounder").
- Where: suburb, and whether travel is required.
- When: hours, days, start date.
- Pay: a rate or range. Ads with pay usually get more serious applicants.
- What you need: must-haves only (licences, experience).
- How to apply: what to include in the message.
Be fair and legal
Pay at least the relevant award minimum for employees, and avoid discriminatory requirements. The Fair Work Ombudsman has guidance.
Post it
Post a job on getme for free and it's shown to workers in nearby suburbs. Then share it with the share buttons on the job page.
